I. Core Safety Guidelines Before Maintenance

Before performing any maintenance operations on an electric hoist, strict adherence to industrial safety regulations is essential to prevent accidents and secondary damage to the equipment. The core requirements are as follows:
Disconnect the main power supply to the equipment and display a "Do Not Power On, Maintenance in Progress" warning sign to prevent accidental power-on.
Ensure the hoist hook is unloaded, lower it to the ground or a stable support surface, and release all tension on the lifting mechanism.
Maintenance personnel must wear protective gloves, goggles, and other protective equipment to avoid contact with lubricating oil, metal shavings, or moving parts.
For electric hoists operating at heights, a stable operating platform must be erected; climbing without protective measures is strictly prohibited.
Maintenance tools must be placed in a dedicated tool bag to prevent them from falling or into the equipment's transmission parts.

II. Daily Inspection (Complete quickly in 5-10 minutes before/after daily operations)

Daily inspection is a fundamental part of equipment maintenance, focusing on easily worn and loose parts to promptly identify potential problems. It is applicable to routine operating conditions where daily continuous operation is ≤8 hours.

(I) Lifting System Inspection

Chain: Inspect the G80 grade heavy-duty chain for deformation, cracks, rust, and chain jamming. Check if chain link wear exceeds 10% of the original diameter, and ensure the chain lubrication is even and free from dryness or jamming.

Hook: Check if the hook anti-derailment buckle is flexible and effective, the hook body is free from cracks and deformation, the threads are free from stripping, and the bearings rotate without jamming or abnormal noise.

Drum/Sprocket: Check the drum wire rope (for wire rope electric hoists) for broken strands and loose strands. Ensure the sprocket teeth are not excessively worn, the meshing clearance with the chain is uniform, and there is no risk of skipped teeth.

(II) Operating System Inspection

Traveling Mechanism: The traveling wheels of the trolley (GCT-AK flatcar, GCL-AK gear trolley) should be free from jamming and uneven wear, with good track fit and no deviation or shaking;

Braking System: Perform no-load jogging lifting and lowering to check the sensitivity of the brake shoes. After braking, there should be no hook slippage or sliding, and the braking clearance should be uniform;

Connection Parts: Check that the bolts and nuts between the trolley and the hoist body, and between the lifting lugs and the fixing frame, are tight, without looseness or stripping, and that the cotter pins are not detached or deformed.

(III) Electrical System Inspection

Power Cords and Cables: Cables are free from damage, aging, and exposure; plugs and sockets have good contact, with no burning or oxidation; cable retraction devices are flexible, without tangling or jamming.

Control Buttons: Operating handle buttons are responsive; lifting, lowering, and left/right movement commands respond accurately without delay or malfunction; handle casings are undamaged and have good insulation.

Indicator Lights and Protection Devices: Power indicator lights and fault indicator lights function normally; overload protection and limit protection (upper and lower limits) trigger sensitively without failure.

III. Regular Maintenance (Classified by Working Condition, Precisely Matching Maintenance Cycles)

Based on the actual operating intensity of the electric hoist, it is divided into light load conditions (≤4 hours of daily operation, intermittent operation), medium load conditions (4-8 hours of daily operation, regular continuous operation), and heavy load conditions (>8 hours of daily operation, high frequency, high load operation). Different maintenance cycles and contents are implemented for different working conditions to ensure targeted maintenance.

(I) Weekly Maintenance (Applicable to all operating conditions)

Lubrication: Apply high-load grease to moving parts such as chains, sprockets, wheel bearings, and hook bearings, ensuring even coverage and no buildup. For wire rope electric hoists, apply special anti-rust grease to the wire rope to prevent corrosion and wire breakage.

Cleaning and Dust Removal: Use compressed air (pressure ≤ 0.5 MPa) to clean dust, iron filings, and oil from the equipment surface, electrical box interior, and transmission parts, preventing impurities from entering the transmission mechanism and electrical components.

Limit Switch Calibration: Check the trigger positions of the upper and lower limit switches to ensure accurate power cut-off when the hook reaches its limit position and descends to the ground edge. After calibration, tighten the limit switch fixing bolts.

(II) Monthly Maintenance (Mandatory for medium/heavy load conditions, every 2 months for light load conditions)

Wear Inspection: Use calipers and micrometers to inspect chain wear, hook opening, and brake shoe thickness. If the brake shoe thickness is less than 50% of its original thickness, replace it immediately.

Fastener Retightening: Retighten all bolts and nuts on the equipment using a torque wrench to the standard torque. Pay special attention to the fasteners on the traveling mechanism, braking system, and motor mounting points.

Electrical Component Inspection: Open the electrical box and check for burnt or oxidized contactors and relays, ensure terminals are secure, and verify fuse specifications are correct, with no blown or loose fuses.

Brake System Maintenance: Clean oil and dust from the brake wheel surface. Check brake spring elasticity. If springs are loose or deformed, replace them promptly to ensure braking torque meets standards.

(III) Quarterly Maintenance (Mandatory for heavy-load conditions, once every 4 months for medium-load conditions, and once every 6 months for light-load conditions)

Comprehensive Lubrication: Disassemble chains, sprockets, travel bearings, etc., clean the old grease, and replace with new high-load, high-temperature resistant grease; add or replace grease for motor bearings, using the appropriate grease for the motor model;

Sealing Inspection: Inspect all sealing parts of the equipment (motor end cover, electrical box, gearbox) for aging or damage of sealing rings and gaskets, and replace them promptly to prevent dust and moisture from entering and damaging components;

Gearbox Inspection: Check if the gearbox oil level is within the standard range, and ensure the lubricating oil is free of turbidity, emulsification, and odor. If the lubricating oil is deteriorated, immediately drain it and replace it with the same type of dedicated gear oil; check for oil leaks in the gearbox and seal any leaks promptly;

Overload Protection Calibration: Calibrate the overload protection device using a standard load to ensure accurate power disconnection when the equipment exceeds 1.25 times the rated load, preventing equipment damage due to overload.

(IV) Annual Maintenance (Applicable to all operating conditions, can be combined with equipment annual inspection)

Comprehensive Component Inspection: Perform non-destructive testing on all hoist components, focusing on key load-bearing components such as chains, hooks, brake wheels, and sprockets for internal cracks and fatigue damage. Replace any components that meet the scrap standard immediately and strictly prohibit continued use.

Motor Maintenance: Disassemble the motor, clean the dust from the stator and rotor surfaces, and check the winding insulation resistance (using a 500V megohmmeter; insulation resistance ≥ 0.5MΩ is acceptable). If the insulation resistance is below standard, dry the motor or replace the windings. Check the carbon brush wear; if the carbon brush thickness is less than 1/3 of the original thickness, replace the carbon brushes and grind the contact surface to ensure good contact.

Complete Machine Debugging: After completing all maintenance, perform no-load and load test runs. Under no-load conditions, check the smooth operation of each mechanism for abnormal noises and jamming. Under load, check the rated load... At 100% and 125% capacity, the lifting, lowering, and traveling functions must be tested respectively. The braking system, limit protection, and overload protection must all function normally, and the equipment should exhibit no shaking, leakage, or abnormal noise.

Maintenance Record Archiving: Detailed records of all annual maintenance data (wear amount, grease/oil type, replaced parts, and debugging results) should be maintained to create an equipment maintenance file, providing data support for subsequent maintenance and parts procurement.

IV. Specialized Maintenance for Special Operating Conditions

For special operating conditions such as high temperature, high humidity, dust, and corrosive environments (e.g., chemical workshops, ports, metallurgical plants, tropical regions), in addition to routine maintenance, specialized maintenance measures are added to adapt to the requirements of harsh environments:
High Temperature Environments (Ambient Temperature > 40℃): Shorten the replacement cycle of motor bearings and gearbox lubricating oil (by 50%), increase the inspection frequency of the braking system (twice daily) to prevent lubrication failure and brake shoe burning caused by high temperatures; add a high-temperature resistant protective layer to the surface of cables and electrical components to prevent accelerated aging.
High Humidity/Coastal Environments: Spray anti-rust and anti-corrosion coatings on all metal parts of the equipment (chains, hooks, trolleys), and perform anti-rust treatment monthly; place desiccant in the electrical box and seal the gaps in the electrical box to prevent moisture from entering and causing short circuits in electrical components.
Dusty/Powder Environments: Install dust covers on motors and electrical boxes, use sealed lubrication for chains and sprockets to prevent dust from entering the transmission mechanism and causing accelerated wear; increase the equipment cleaning frequency (1-2 times daily). For the following conditions: Clean surface and internal dust promptly; For corrosive environments (such as chemical or electroplating workshops): Replace parts with corrosion-resistant materials (such as 304 stainless steel chains and hooks), apply anti-corrosion sealing treatment to electrical components, use anti-corrosion gear oil in the gearbox, and check the corrosion of parts weekly, treating rusted areas promptly.

V. Maintenance Consumables and Parts Selection Guidelines

The effectiveness of electric hoist maintenance is directly related to the quality of consumables and parts. To ensure equipment operational stability, Wuyi recommends that global users follow these selection guidelines:
Lubrication Consumables: Prioritize Wuyi original equipment manufacturer (OEM) high-load greases and gear oils, or industrial lubricants conforming to ISO 6743/4 standards. The use of ordinary lubricating oil as a substitute is strictly prohibited to avoid lubrication failure.
Consumable Parts: For consumable parts such as hooks, chains, brake shoes, carbon brushes, and seals, it is recommended to use OEM parts to ensure precise matching with the equipment model. OEM parts undergo rigorous quality testing and meet international lifting equipment safety standards.
Electrical Components: For electrical components such as contactors, relays, limit switches, and fuses, select products conforming to IEC international electrical standards to ensure the stability and safety of the electrical system and avoid electrical failures caused by substandard parts.
Consumable Storage: Grease and gear oil must be stored in a sealed container in a cool, dry, and ventilated environment, avoiding high temperatures, humidity, and direct sunlight. Metal parts must be treated with rust prevention measures to prevent corrosion during storage.
